After spending the morning cleaning and setting up for a visit from my inlaws (looking forward to that being over) I spent the afternoon Downhill skateboarding with a bunch of guys...life is so simple with a bit of speed. I'm the 4th guy to enter the screen, Black shirt, Blue helmet, Pink wheels trying to stay in the draft of the two kids in a tight draft train. The guy in the Blue shirt was our rabbit. Just past the Videographer we were speed trapped at 39mph. BTW those two kids are the #2 & #7 juniors in the world and it's scary how fast they are...and they lost me just past the speedtrap...my tuck sucks and I'm old (that's my story anyway)

yeah that was the taxi/shuttle...the hill is a mile and with shuttle service we get about 10 runs an hour. We varied from mass starts to heats to solo runs. I was the 3rd fastest in solo runs behind the aforementioned speedy kids but I'm not very comfortable in a pack (those two kids were playing slapfights at 35mph drifting/sliding through corners )

At that speed, I wouldn't be comfortable solo or in a pack. :-) Looks like fun though.

awaiting surgery
I went into work yesterday...getting through the security turnstile that has replace the front doors of my building was more effort than I was expecting. The Elevator was not restful and when I finally did get to my office someone stole my heater (my office is so cold in the spring/summer/fall that an electric heater is required or icicles form from your breath (this isn't a joke). well I'm officially retired now, sorta looking for a job but content to work in and around the house for a bit. My one task that I need to accomplish is to complete my VA claim and boy is that annoying....I have my medical record all 5 inches of it and I have to prove each issue that I am claiming and when I first had it treated....this Go »sure ain't kansas
well I've had my MAC for almost a month now and I'm pretty much converted I received my Education edition of Photoshop last week and it didn't take me a day to realized that CS3 is drastically different that CS2...Time to start learning again (not that that is a bad thing)...Thankfully it comes with video workshop I'm about half way through it, funny thing It's kindled an enjoyment to learn again...I Go »Life without a Cell Phone
OK now I have never thought I was overly attached to my Cell Phone but since I left mine in the middle of the Indian Ocean I've had to live without it for the last week. OK my trip around the Mediterranean sea was pleasant enough, Cyprus would be a great place to visit anytime not in the winter. Less than 20% of the city of Limasol was open, which made doing anything including eating an adventure. Lots of ruins, did anyone know that Cyprus is/was the birthplace of Aphrodite, I didn't. Go »
