Well, it's my last day at work until January 2nd, so if you don't hear from me, that's why. Not that many people really hear from me, but there it is. :)

My brother-in-law is in town, so craziness could ensue. You never know. He's a nice enough guy. Computer-type. Likes video games. Not the most social of persons (not as bad as me, though, lucky for him). Sort of like me, only a little gruffer. We get along, in that we don't get in each others way, so things work out. I think the combination might drive my wife up a wall though, so there is that!

A bunch of folks at work here went to the local Thai restaurant for lunch. I couldn't go, because I was hard at work (like I am right now...). When they came back, they brought a yellow carnation back for me. From the lady who owns the restaurant. She missed me. I have a way with the ladies! ;) Actually, it mostly asian women, which mystifies me. Maybe I am the ideal man to them. I do like the anime though. Maybe they can tell I dig the culture. Maybe I just have a HUGE ego.

I need one of those "I'm big in Japan!" t-shirts...

Speaking of anime, I love my On Demand service. The anime network merged with a bunch of others channels, and is now a single channel...but I can't think of the name. I think I discussed this before, now that I think about it. Let me check... Nope. Not so much. It's good, that's the point! The only bad part is that sometimes, it doesn't update, so you don't get a full season or you miss shows entirely. For example, they showed the first episode of a show called "This Ugly Yet Beautiful World", which looked interesting (and there was boobies!), but they haven't showed any of the rest of the episodes since! How can I get into the show (and them boobies!) if they stop showing it?!

But, I do still have other shows I watch. Let me list a few of my current favorites! (actually, you don't have to let me, because I'm going to either way!). I was watching Kaleido Star, but I missed two episodes (they never were released), so now I have a gap in my knowledge! (For the fans of the show, I missed the two episodes between when Layla and Sora both realized they could see Fool, and when they performed the Legendary Secret Manuoever (no, I can't spell that word, and I tried four combinations, and it never looks right!)...probably the best part of the show...:( ) I've been watching Angelic Layer (it's my guilty pleasure! This is probably my second favorite show after Azumanga Daioh..which is, itself, a guilty pleasure). I've been watching Inuyasha, which is moving slowly right now. (For the fans, Sesshomaru has just come back trying to get Tetsuaiga, and we find that he also has a mighty sword named Tensaiga! Wow!) The sword maker riding the three-eyed cow is a little strange, but since this is the same person who gave us Ranma 1/2, I guess it's to be expected! I watched the complete run of Paranoia Agent, which was fine, but not as good as I heard it hyped up to be. Just my opinion. The last show I'm following semi-regularly is Ghost Stories, which is actually (according to my research) a different show in its original form. The english translation is done in a very funny parodic manner, which appeals to me. I'm considering getting the dvds, because they have the original japanese with faithfully translated subtitles, so it's like getting two series for the price of one! Yay!

It scares me that I'm starting to recognize the english voice actors in different roles in different series.

It petrifies me that I can recognize a couple of the japanese voice actors in different roles. Yipes!

Song of the day: "Soramimi Cake" by Lemons and Oranges. It's the opening song for Azumanga Daioh. It's bubbly and fun! Really fits the show! Besides, how can you resist a song with the line "Everyday, the temptations of wheat, so fluffy!"? You cannot! Don't try to resist the absolute cuteness! KAWAII!!!!!!!

It was just revealed to me that the carnation did not, in fact, come from the lady at the Thai restaurant. Well, it did, but not for me. So, ignore all the happiness from before. I will return to my putrid existence as an ugly SOB that no one likes! :(

:D I kid, of course. Not about the carnation not being for me, but for the depression part. It's too holiday-ey to be sad!!!

Everyone take care! I'll see you in 2007!

PS-> I might have to finds a way to get back in here, just so I don't lose too much ground in the GOO game. No promises, though. And Scott: Look, we both know I messed up the spelling of the name for GOO 897. You can give me the benefit of the doubt! C'mon! I can't fall behind this early! Please? C'mon, man! I know I got it right but I misspelled the name. Help a brother out!

Oh, gosh! I'm sorry Lori! I didn't even think about it! Augh!! Sorry sorry! :(

I have not heard of "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya". Should I consider the mention a recommendation?

8-II-2008 or No way! Not on your life!

Thanks to Lori for giving me something to laugh about today! :) Well, it's Lent again, which means I'm not eating meat today (except seafood, which is still kind of meat, which never really made much sense to me, but, hey, I'm a follower, so I do what I'm told without question...or at least without vocalizing those questions!). 31-X-2007 or Quick funny

I was at Target today working, and they were giving me crap. My co-worker thinks one of the other employees was hitting on me (she totally wasn't), and she's been telling people about how funny she thinks it is. Well, anyway, my immediate superior comes up to me, and he's patting me on the back, and he's razzing me, and he says, "C'mon, playa! Go »
